Pepperdine University | 2024 Caruso School of Law Annual Dinner

No single person has been more important to the success of the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law than its founding dean, Ron Phillips. I was entrusted with the opportunity to honor Phillips’ 30-year legacy by art directing the law school’s annual dinner event design and identity hosted at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Ron’s warmth, love for family, taste in country music, and gentle, generous spirit inspired the design direction. I led design execution for all directional and environmental signage, slide decks, looping title animation, a formal printed invitation and RSVP package, digital graphics, a 60-page program and commemorative book, and a debossed leather book and matching gift box. I also advised stage design, lighting, linens, and decor.

 

 

Pepperdine Boone Center | 20th Anniversary Luncheon

Pepperdine Boone Center for the Family helps individuals build and strengthen healthy relationships through personal and leadership development programs and trainings. The keynote speakers honored at the 20th event were marriage and intimacy therapists. The design used a subtle depiction of “the birds and the bees” to represent the topic and honorees which also was befitting of the audience (mostly GenX women). A textural treatment was applied to bring in an antique aesthetic to the print collateral to imply a timelessness and enduring love. I provided color recommendations, input on event props and booth setup, staging and lighting, directional signage, a printed invitation package, gift wrap, seating and table cards, an event program, and a slide presentation.

 

 

Pepperdine School of Public Policy | 25th Anniversary Gala

The challenge of the graduate school’s 25th Anniversary Gala branding was balancing the broad range of ideas from the primary stakeholder with the event’s classy and luxurious setting. There were several elements to consider including the design mediums, event scale, and audience. The campaign included print and digital materials including directional signage, staging and lighting, a printed invitation package, event program, slide presentation, and video promo. Event design and preparation required collaboration with event specialists, marketers, broadcast engineers, media producers, and production teams.
